So you are intrigued about building a Windows Store app but aren’t sure where to start; no worries Microsoft’s Channel 9 has you covered with their Windows Store Apps for Absolute Beginners with C# video series. This video series guides you through every single step of developing and publishing a Windows Store app using Microsoft’s free Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows 8.
Microsoft has teamed up with Bob Tabor of LearnVisualStudio.net to bring you this fantastic video learning series with hours and hours of footage that will put you well on your way to making and developing your first app. Partner this with Microsoft’s Generation App which we discussed yesterday and you really have no excuse for getting starting on your very own Windows Store app!
This is great, but what if you don’t already know C# and? Are you completely new to programming and don’t want to get left behind in this video series? Fret not, because last summer Microsoft’s Channel 9 teamed up with Mr. Tabor again to come up with the fantastic C# Fundamentals: Development for Absolute Beginners video learning series.
Just how good is Bob and how well done are his learning series videos? Well about eighteen months ago I went through his Windows Phone 7 Development for Absolute Beginners video series via his website LearnVisualStudio.net. Shortly after completing that series and working on and completing my first Windows Phone 7 app Microsoft’s Channel 9 again came to the rescue and offered that the series free on Channel 9.
Remember, I am not a programmer. My day job is an Active Directory expert. I have been in the systems administration side of enterprise level information technology for well over a decade now. However, I was able to follow the video series set by Bob Tabor to learn the basics and fundamentals of designing and developing a Windows Phone 7 app all on my own, with little to know outside help.
You don’t really have any excuses. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to program Microsoft is giving you countless free and easy to use tools and learning materials to get the job done. You get the free toolset with Visual Studio 2012 Express editions along with hundreds of hours of free video learning series at Microsoft’s Channel 9.
Join me on my journey over the next 30 days where I’ll be using all of these tools provided by Microsoft to publish my very on Windows Store app.
