In this short three minute video we show you how to move a Windows 8 or Surface recovery partition to an external drive, such as a USB or microSD. This will help free up about seven gigabytes of precious hard drive space from your primary partition, especially for those with the Microsoft Surface for Windows RT or the Microsoft Surface Pro, where solid state drive storage is at a premium. This task is very straight forward and can be performed by anyone.

We’re also happy to announce that this is the first video we’ve published here on Microsoft Fanboys, and you can be expecting more like it in the future. Let us know what you think and free to share and subscribe to our channel. This video was completely recorded, edited and uploaded from a Surface for Windows 8 Pro and the three minute 1080p video was rendered in about sixty seconds. Needless to say, it is more than a capable device!
